Description
- Preparation for Service Trip: “We invite parents and youth to use these at family table discussions before and after the trip.”
- Mission trip: “These are our devotions on our trip. Kids split into to groups of four and talk for at least a half hour.”
- Leadership / Discipleship: “Our leadership team of kids and adults uses one of these as an opening discussion every time we meet.”
- Peace and Justice: “Our congregation is working on making a difference in the world and in our own neighborhood. Doing Likewise has got us talking and grounded.”
- Personal Reflections: “I use these for my own devotions, jotting notes in a journal and praying as I try to be more attentive for caring and welcoming others.”
- Praying In Color: “At camp, we started the day off with a quiet morning devotion time. We let campers pick up a card and some colored and pencils to doodle around words, thoughts and symbols that flow from reflections. They used the back of the cards, and then used them as book marks in their own Bibles.”
- Gift to our Leaders: “We gave these to all our leaders at the beginning of the school year as part of our thank you for volunteering.”
- Youth Ministry Discussion: “Our kids love to talk about deeper issues. Doing Likewise was just enough to trigger people talking about faith and life for the whole time.”
- Caring, Welcoming Culture: “We give these to all our leaders. Our church wants to be known as a caring and welcoming congregations. We use these all the times to help create that culture with conversation and biblical background.”
- Peer Ministry Leadership: “In order to build on what our youth learned in Peer Ministry Leadership we keep coming back to the themes of caring, welcoming and affirming. Doing Likewise helps us continue the discussions.”
